Updated: October 15, 2026

Beijing International Studies University (BISU) was the only university among those providing volunteer service to handle foreign-language translation at the 2026 Beijing Culture Forum held from Sept 21 to 23.

Themed "Cultural Heritage and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations", the forum brought together guests from China and abroad to explore ways of carrying forward civilizations and promoting exchange and mutual development.

Leveraging its professional strengths and extensive experience in major-event service, BISU dispatched 67 multilingual volunteers to the front line, handling tasks ranging from receiving foreign guests, venue support and itinerary coordination to multilingual communication and guided tours.

On Sept 22, the volunteers also served as multilingual guides at the Capital Museum, introducing the millennia-old culture embodied in its artifacts and allowing guests to fully appreciate the profound depth of China's traditional culture.

During an evening tour of the city, they used Beijing's landmarks to present the ancient capital's historical heritage alongside its modern vitality, giving foreign guests a vivid sense of a city where past and present blend.

Their work won high praise from both the forum organizers and guests from various countries.
