
A seminar on textbook development for digital cultural tourism programs was held in Beijing from Sept 12 to 13, co-hosted by the Tourism Education Press of Beijing International Studies University (BISU) and several universities.
The seminar covered multiple sets of textbooks for undergraduate, vocational undergraduate and junior college programs in fields such as digital cultural tourism, digital cultural tourism technology and application, residential wellness operation and management, and cultural creativity and planning.
Discipline leaders and core teachers from nearly 100 institutions across the country attended the event.

Gong Bo, standing committee member of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university, said in his address that textbooks should keep pace with the fast-changing cultural tourism, residential wellness and cultural creativity industries, and be tailored to the training goals of undergraduate, vocational undergraduate and junior college programs.
Experts shared views on industry trends, program development and approaches to textbook writing.
Two roundtable discussions focused on innovation in digital and smart textbooks and on industry-education collaboration, while parallel sessions reviewed outlines and set the format, division of work and timeline for the series.
At the event, BISU also launched the Cultural Tourism Digital-Intelligent Textbook Publishing Alliance, a platform for coordinating textbook development across undergraduate, vocational undergraduate and vocational college programs and for training interdisciplinary talent in cultural tourism.
As the publisher responsible for compiling and publishing the textbooks, the Tourism Education Press will accelerate the release of a high-quality digital cultural tourism textbook series.
