More than 3,000 new students arrived at Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on Sept 4 to begin their university life, as registration for the new intake kicked off on the university's Chaoyang and Yanqing campuses in a warm autumn atmosphere.

Banners reading "Welcome, New Students" and creative photo check-in points set up by each school added a lively touch to the campuses. Registration areas on both campuses were neatly arranged with clear signposts, and departments worked together to open special service zones covering household registration, green channels, medical care and volunteer assistance, addressing the various needs of freshmen.

At the registration sites, BISU leaders talked warmly with freshmen and their accompanying parents about their impressions of the campus, study plans and daily life, answering questions of common concern.

Ji Jinbiao, deputy secretary of the CPC BISU Committee and the university's president, encouraged the new students to quickly adapt to university life and build capabilities in BISU's multicultural learning environment.

As the autumn semester begins, BISU expects its new students to take this day as a fresh start, pursue rigorous learning, and grow into outstanding professionals committed to promoting cultural exchanges between China and the world.
