The "Language Magic Cube", an innovation project of AI-powered personalized multilingual education and teaching developed by Beijing International Studies University (BISU), has recently been selected for the list of national exemplary innovation cases in language science and technology empowerment for 2025 by the Ministry of Education.
This initiative solicited language science and technology innovation applications from across the country. Following strict evaluation criteria and standardized procedures — including self-application, preliminary qualification review and multiple rounds of expert evaluation — 100 exemplary cases were ultimately selected.

The system of the BISU "Language Magic Cube"
Rooted in BISU's distinctive strengths in multilingual education and built on frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data, the BISU "Language Magic Cube" project deeply integrates AI into the entire process of multilingual education and teaching, precisely addressing long-standing problems in traditional multilingual teaching, including rigid teaching models, insufficient personalized guidance, weak learning-data support and poor integration between in-class and extracurricular learning.
By building an intelligent, integrated and personalized multilingual smart teaching platform, the project breaks the time and space limits of traditional classrooms and establishes a new teaching paradigm featuring precise instruction, precise learning analytics and precise cultivation, implementing the educational philosophy of individual teaching.
To date, standardized course systems for major languages — including Japanese, French, Spanish, Korean, German and Russian — have been developed on the platform and fully applied to classroom teaching and students' self-directed learning.
The platform integrates core functions such as intelligent speech assessment, smart push of personalized learning resources, an AI round-the-clock teaching assistant and big-data learning analytics, empowering teachers with more precise instruction and students with more efficient self-study, and improving the quality of multilingual talent cultivation and classroom effectiveness.
The project marks a landmark achievement of BISU in deepening the construction of new liberal arts, implementing the national digital education strategy and advancing foreign language education reform.
Having previously been selected as an artificial intelligence typical application scenario cultivation project in higher education in Beijing, the project now has been recognized as a national-level exemplary case, achieving a step-by-step breakthrough for BISU's digital innovation in language education from municipal cultivation to national demonstration.
Going forward, BISU will take this recognition as an opportunity to continue upgrading the platform's functions, enriching multilingual course resources and expanding smart teaching application scenarios, so as to build a comprehensive and integrated smart language learning system.
