The closing ceremony of the 2026 "Chinese Bridge" Camp was held at Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on Aug 21.

Hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under China's Ministry of Education and organized by BISU, the ceremony marked the conclusion of the camp for teachers and students from the Confucius Institute at the Mohammed V University of Rabat in Morocco and the Confucius Institute of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region in France.

Zheng Chengjun, BISU vice-president, extended his congratulations to all participants on completing their summer learning tasks at the ceremony.

Noting that this year marks both the 10th anniversary of the China-Morocco strategic partnership and the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, Zheng highlighted BISU's long-standing commitment to educational exchanges with Morocco and its continued efforts to advance the “Chinese + tourism” program built on the university's academic strengths, which have steadily deepened mutual understanding between the two cultures.

Zheng also shared the achievements of BISU's internationalization and its contributions to international Chinese language education and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed the hope that the participants would gain a multi-dimensional and authentic picture of China through the camp, and warmly welcomed them to return to study at BISU and in Beijing in the future.

The two Confucius institute directors, Dai Xiaoqi and Liang Hong, voiced their gratitude for BISU's thoughtful and well-organized arrangements, noting that the exchange trip gave participants a chance to appreciate China's profound traditional culture as well as its convenient and comfortable modern life, and to forge genuine and deep friendships.

During the ceremony, participants took the stage to present what they had gained from the camp — singing Chinese songs and sharing their experiences in Mandarin.

BISU has long been dedicated to international Chinese language education and cross-cultural dialogue. So far in 2026, the university has hosted more than 350 young people from eight countries — Panama, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Russia, Morocco and France — through various short-term programs and summer camps.

Looking ahead, the university will continue to leverage its disciplinary strengths to develop more high-quality exchange programs, build platforms for international cooperation, and contribute to mutual learning among civilizations.
