
Three distinguished scholars from renowned US universities visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU) from July 9 to 10, where they had exchanges with BISU's Vice-President Zheng Chengjun.
During the meeting with Deng Honghui, a tenured professor and advisor for Chinese projects at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Zheng stressed that educational exchange serves as a vital bridge in Sino-US cultural interactions.
He expressed hope that this visit would serve as a springboard to facilitate communication between the two universities, deepen regular exchanges, and elevate cooperation to new heights, thereby bolstering Sino-US educational exchange and mutual cultural understanding.

Deng introduced the unique features and international achievements of the University of Nevada. He looked forward to both universities leveraging their respective strengths to build a platform for regular cooperation, explore new collaboration models, and jointly cultivate interdisciplinary talent with strong global competence.
In meetings with Professor Shi Zhongqi from Columbia University's Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures and Gao Yufeng, executive director of the Institute of International Education, Zheng noted the long-standing positive exchange and cooperation between the institutions.

Zheng acknowledged that BISU places great importance on integrating language teaching with practical application. He looks forward to further strengthening collaboration, combining the strengths and resources of both sides to deepen Sino-US educational cooperation and youth exchanges.
Shi and Gao expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highly praised the BISU's work in international Chinese education.
They emphasized the importance of linking language learning with career development and providing students with internship opportunities. They also noted that the "Chinese + Tourism" education initiative currently underway at BISU has broad prospects. They hope to deepen cooperation in the future and jointly promote innovative development in international Chinese education.
