
Zhang Yan, vice-president of Beijing International Studies University (BISU), led a delegation to Romania and Denmark from June 8 to 13.
The visit was aimed at deepening collaborations in local Confucius Institutes, faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and regional studies, resulting in several cooperation agreements.
In Romania, the delegation visited Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, where they engaged discussions with university leaders on topics including the Confucius Institute, foreign faculty, and student exchanges with the university’s leaders. A framework cooperation agreement was signed during the visit.

At the University of Bucharest, both sides signed a joint bachelor's and master's degree program agreement and conducted detailed talks that identified collaboration in international conferences, joint research, summer programs, regional studies, and Erasmus projects.

The BISU delegation has exchanges with the leaders of the University of Bucharest.
The delegation also visited the University Polytechnic of Bucharest, where they discussed Romanian language program development and foreign faculty recruitment with university leadership.
Additionally, the delegation met with the Chinese Embassy in Romania to discuss cooperation in higher education, culture, and tourism, and sought guidance for future collaborations. They also connected with alumni working at the embassy and held talks with the Romanian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce to explore cultural exchanges and student internship opportunities.
In Denmark, the delegation visited the University of Copenhagen. Discussions focused on Danish language program development, scholar exchanges, and study abroad opportunities, resulting in a cooperation framework agreement.

To promote the "Study Abroad at BISU" initiative, the delegation visited Rysensteen Gymnasium in Denmark. Known as Denmark's top high school, Rysensteen showed keen interest in collaborating with BISU and its high school on study abroad programs and summer courses.
This visit aims to enhance the "Study at BISU" brand and contribute to the university's mission of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
