During the meeting, Gong introduced the university's positioning as a high-level applied university with an emphasis on foreign languages and tourism, highlighting its multidisciplinary development approach.

Gong emphasized the potential for collaboration with FAO in advancing sustainable agricultural development, addressing climate change, and encouraging youth participation in green development.

He said that BISU is committed to leveraging its academic and talent advantages to support students in engaging in global governance through international platforms, while providing intellectual support for FAO's projects in China.

Carlos Aldeco, FAO representative to China, welcomed the BISU delegation and outlined the progress of FAO's key projects in China.

He stressed that youth are a valuable force in driving agricultural innovation, rural revitalization, and green development, and that FAO looks forward to establishing a cooperative framework with BISU that covers internships, specialized research, and volunteer services, with the aim of exploring new pathways for youth involvement in global governance and green development.

In recent years, BISU has continuously advanced the cultivation of talent for international organizations and expanded its cooperation network with the UN system and other international bodies.

The university intends to build on this meeting as an opportunity to deepen practical collaboration with FAO and other UN organizations, by exploring more cooperative models in student internships, joint research, and volunteer services, and thereby contributing more of its expertise to China's participation in global governance.
