Titled "Cultivating new momentum for capital development with 'AI + language'," Gong systematically shared BISU's exploration of empowering high-quality development in the capital through "language intelligence," leveraging its strengths as a foreign language institution.

In his speech, Gong highlighted that Beijing, as an international center for technological innovation, is accelerating its development into a globally influential hub for AI innovation and industry. He stated that language intelligence is a key infrastructure supporting this strategic goal.

Gong emphasized that standard-setting is crucial for foreign language universities to gain an advantage in the "AI + Language" field. He introduced BISU's advancement in developing an AI simultaneous interpretation quality evaluation system centered on Chinese, filling a domestic gap and promoting the transformation of AI interpretation from "usable" to "measurable, selectable, and manageable."

Additionally, Gong introduced the university's key initiatives in industry support and international communication. He stated that BISU prioritizes high-quality corpus construction as "new infrastructure" for the capital's digital economy, focusing on countries along the Belt and Road and the Global South countries to develop multilingual parallel corpora.

Gong concluded that BISU will seize the opportunities presented by AI, continue to focus on "AI + Language" as a core strategy, advance interdisciplinary integration, and explore new paths for the transformation of Chinese foreign language universities in this intelligent era.
