
Beijing International Studies University (BISU) held a ceremony on April 28 to appoint Professor Yang Yixian as honorary dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Language Science.
Li Biyou, secretary of the CPC BISU Committee, welcomed Yang, and noted that his appointment is a strategic move to enhance the university's development through talent acquisition.

Li hoped Yang to leverage his expertise to foster interdisciplinary research and innovation, and promote collaborations and applications of AI in education. He said this initiative aims to propel BISU to new heights in language technology and contribute to the university's high-quality development.
Yang thanked BISU for its trust and praised its pioneering efforts in establishing the School of Artificial Intelligence and Language Science, building on a strong foundation in foreign languages.
Yang also highlighted the importance of integrating AI and language science in advancing higher education, cultural development, and international communication. As honorary dean, he pledged to actively fulfill his responsibilities by promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, supporting talent cultivation, and facilitating cooperative exchanges to contribute to BISU's growth.

Yang Yixian is currently a Ph.D. supervisor at the School of Artificial Intelligence at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He was the inaugural distinguished professor of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program and the first recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has received numerous honors, including national teaching master, national outstanding science and technology worker, and the China Youth Scientist Award.
