
A delegation from the University of Language and International Studies (ULIS) under Vietnam National University, Hanoi, visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on April 13.

Zheng Chengjun, BISU's vice-president, warmly welcomed the delegation, emphasizing that their visit was a vivid representation of the friendly relations between China and Vietnam in the field of education.
Zheng highlighted BISU's long-standing commitment to cultivating talent in diplomacy and foreign trade since its establishment in 1964 and its focus on educational cooperation with neighboring countries like Vietnam.
He introduced the distinctive features of BISU's School of Asian Studies and School of International Education and proposed practical suggestions for cooperation in Chinese language education, Vietnamese language training, student and faculty exchanges, and academic research collaboration.
Hoa Ngoc Son, ULIS's vice-president, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and shared an overview of the university's history and academic profile.
He noted that both universities share a focus on foreign language education, presenting significant opportunities for collaboration. He emphasized that with a strong interest in Chinese language studies in Vietnam, students from ULIS studying at BISU have highly praised the learning environment and quality of education.
He also expressed his desire to deepen cooperation, learn from BISU's successful "foreign language+" educational model, and jointly establish a Vietnamese Cultural Research Center to promote research collaboration and cultural exchange between China and Vietnam.
