Zheng Chengjun, vice-president of Beijing International Studies University (BISU), was invited to share insights on the university's exemplary cases of cooperation with Africa at the 2026 work promotion meeting for Chinese members of the China-Africa Universities 100 Cooperation Plan.
The meeting, held on April 10 in Beijing, was one of the events marking the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, underscoring the role of educational collaboration within this flagship initiative.

Zheng shares insights on BISU's exemplary cases of Africa Cooperation.
Zheng highlighted BISU's strengths in promoting educational exchange and cooperation between China and Africa through a dual focus on "Chinese Language + Tourism", which has led to the establishment of BISU's overseas education brand and the integration of this model into Morocco's national education system.
He introduced the university's diverse exchange platforms, including the annual China-Morocco Cultural and Educational Exchange International Symposium, held for 13 consecutive years, fostering academic dialogue and mutual understanding.
Jia Peng, deputy director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges at China's Ministry of Education, praised BISU's collaborative programs with Africa, particularly the "Chinese Language + Tourism" collaboration, which capitalizes on its tourism expertise. He expressed hope that this model and its successes could be replicated in other African countries.
Jia further encouraged universities to advance cooperation with African counterparts focusing on clustering, branding, and digitalization, to amplify the impact of the China-Africa Universities 100 Cooperation Plan, and contribute to the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
Last year, BISU's College (Morocco) under UNESCO's Campus Africa was selected as a key cooperation project under the China-Africa University Alliance exchange mechanism while its China-Morocco Cultural Exchange and Mutual Learning Symposium and Middle East Carnival was recognized as exemplary under the "China-Africa Universities 100 Cooperation Plan.
Looking ahead, BISU aims to further deepen educational exchange and cooperation in Africa, fostering mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and African peoples.
