Beijing International Studies University (BISU) was recently honored with the Chaoyang Cup and Sunshine Cup at the 2025 Capital University Sports League.
Among the 92 participating universities, only nine received both accolades—and BISU was one of them. This marks the second consecutive year that BISU has claimed the two cups, following its dual victory in 2024.

The Chaoyang Cup and Sunshine Cup awards
The Chaoyang Cup serves as a core platform for mass sports competitions among universities in Beijing, targeting students without sports specialties and physical education teachers. It includes events such as rope skipping, shuttlecock kicking, dragon boat racing, sports dance, and quality development activities. Additionally, it features academic competitions such as teaching skills contests for physical education teachers and sports science paper presentations.
The Sunshine Cup focuses on official Olympic sports, comprising 18 competitive events such as athletics, swimming, basketball, football, volleyball, and table tennis, with comprehensive rankings based on annual total scores.
Over the past year, BISU's sports programs have flourished, achieving remarkable success. The university has celebrated national championships and consistently performed well in various competitions across the capital.
BISU's rugby program continues to shine as a distinctive brand, while it maintains strong competitiveness in traditional sports like martial arts and taekwondo. Across both mass and competitive sports events, the students have showcased their vigor and spirit.
BISU is committed to the high-quality development of sports education. The university aims to continuously upgrade its sports education and teaching models, enhance its comprehensive competition development system, and further advance its sports programs.
