The National Interpreting Competition AI Track Showcase, part of the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum, was held at Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on March 26.
This was the first time the Zhongguancun Forum engaged with a foreign language institution.

BISU hosts national interpreting competition AI track showcase on March 26.
In his speech, Li Biyou, secretary of the CPC BISU Committee, described the forum as a "golden card" for China's high-level international cooperation.
Li stated that integrating AI with translation practices is not only a response to the global AI technology wave but also essential for transforming the language service industry and fostering new productivity.
He emphasized that this event served as a bridge for technology demonstration, talent competition, and industry connection, promoting AI application in language services and injecting new momentum into the multilingual translation industry.
Ji Jinbiao, deputy secretary of the CPC BISU Committee and BISU vice-president, highlighted three groundbreaking "firsts" of the event: the introduction of the first AI track in the national interpreting competition; the first time BISU organized the competition across all languages; and the first integration of professional interpreting competitions into a national technological innovation platform such as the Zhongguancun Forum.
The event also unveiled China's first AI simultaneous interpreting quality assessment platform and announced several significant achievements in AI multilingual translation.
During the showcase, five leading companies demonstrated their multilingual translation technologies and applications in government and exhibition scenarios. A joint research team from BISU and TRS conducted live dynamic evaluations of products in translation scenarios involving eight languages, showcasing technical advantages and achieving precise matching of technology supply and industry demand.
The finals and award ceremony of this year's national interpreting competition was also held at BISU on March 29, highlighting the latest achievements in talent cultivation and AI technology development.
