
A delegation led by Zhao Hongsheng, chairman of the Committee on Affairs of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese and Foreign Affairs of the Beijing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU) to discuss strengthening the city's capacity for international exchanges.

BISU President Ji Jinbiao welcomed Zhao and his team. He highlighted BISU's strong humanistic foundation, emphasizing its development as a multidisciplinary institution with a focus on foreign languages and tourism.
He noted BISU's significant strides in areas such as the China-Arab Culture and Tourism Cooperation Research Center, translation of government documents and public policies, services for major diplomatic events, and research on the cultural contexts of sister cities.
Ji expressed the university's willingness to leverage its strengths in foreign languages, cultural tourism and international exchanges to collaborate with the committee, contributing to the development of educational, cultural and tourism powerhouse.
Zhao praised BISU's contributions to national diplomacy and the capital's international exchange capacity building. He also expressed his hope for the university to offer academic support through its expertise and international perspective, furthering cooperation and providing insights for international exchange center capacity building, thus contributing to both the university's development and national progress.
