
Beijing International Studies University (BISU) was recently recognized for its exceptional contribution to the 9th Asian Winter Games during a commendation ceremony in Harbin, Heilongjiang province.
The university was awarded the "Advanced Collective" title for its volunteer team's outstanding performance. Tang Junran, a 2022 undergraduate majoring in Arabic at BISU's School of Middle Eastern Studies, received the "Advanced Individual" accolade.

As the only university in Beijing to send a structured volunteer team, BISU leveraged its expertise in major sports event by dispatching 24 multilingual students and three faculty leaders to Harbin. Their professional language skills and enthusiastic service earned widespread praise from both organizers and participants.
Tang Junran stand out as a model of youth volunteerism. As head of the main media center's press release team, she was responsible for guiding media and coordinating press conferences.
Her proficiency in Arabic enabled her to assist the Saudi delegation with communication and practical issues. This story of cross-cultural warmth was reported by media outlets and shared by the Chinese Embassy in Saudi Arabia on its official WeChat account, highlighting BISU's role in fostering Sino-foreign exchange.
These recognitions underscore BISU's significant contribution to the Games and its students' commitment to serving national strategies and supporting international events.
