
The female faculty team of the School of Middle Eastern Studies at the Beijing International Studies University (BISU) was recently honored with the National March 8 Red-Banner Collective award by the All-China Women's Federation at a ceremony marking the upcoming International Women's Day.
This distinguished award not only celebrates the dedication and achievements of the female team at the School of Middle Eastern Studies but also acknowledges the spirit of all female staff at BISU.

With 15 female teachers making up 75 percent of its faculty, the School of Middle Eastern Studies at BISU is a testament to the power of women in education. Over the years, these educators have shown strong professional expertise, serving as a bridge for Sino-Arab cultural exchange.
As a key institution for training critical language talent, the female faculty of the school has been at the forefront of teaching and research.
They have repeatedly undertaken the responsibility of simultaneous interpretation at the National People's Congress, showcasing their precise and fluent professional skills. The team actively promotes Sino-Arab cultural exchanges, supporting the Universite Mohammed V Confucius Institute in Morocco, which was recognized as a Global Model Confucius Institute. The team has also led the BISU College (Morocco), which was selected as a key project for the China-Africa University Alliance 2025.
The school boasts a number of influential female experts and scholars, including recipients of the "Senior Translator" title, the first Chinese judge for the Arabic Booker Prize, and members of the Translators Association of China.
These achievements highlight the scholarly excellence and international perspective of Chinese female academics.
As they navigate new challenges, the female educators of the School of Middle Eastern Studies continue to embody the spirit of the National March 8 Red-Banner Collective, using language as their vessel and knowledge as their oar to advance national strategy and cultural dialogue.
