BISU cultivates global ambassadors through volunteer service initiatives
Updated: February 13, 2026

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Beijing International Studies University (BISU) has focused on cultural exchange by creating a distinctive multilingual volunteer service brand and an international volunteer talent cultivation system.

Over the past five years, BISU has mobilized more than 30,000 volunteers for over 170 major domestic and international events, contributing over 200,000 hours of services. These volunteers have played crucial roles across political, cultural, international, and technological events, demonstrating high dedication and professionalism.

BISU volunteers have participated in forums such as the Beijing Cultural Forum and the World Youth Development Forum, using their language skills to share China's story and promote its culture globally. The university has become a leading source of language volunteers for these events.

Looking ahead, BISU plans to continue enhancing its volunteer service education, strengthening the Beijing International Volunteer Service Base, and developing influential volunteer brands. This ongoing commitment ensures that BISU students continue to contribute to national and global development with a strong sense of cultural awareness and international perspective.
