
A delegation led by Zheng Hao, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on Jan 27.

Cheng Wei, BISU's vice-president, welcomed the delegation and introduced the university's unique educational features, disciplinary strengths, research capabilities, and international collaborations.
Cheng emphasized that BISU serves as a key incubator for tourism professionals and shares a solid cooperative foundation with the WTA. She expressed hope that this visit would catalyze further integrate resources and enhance collaboration in areas including research projects, industry think tanks, international training, and information exchange, so as to achieve complementary advantages and coordinated development.
Zheng praised BISU's professional influence and research strength in the cultural and tourism fields and outlined the WTA's background, development goals, and key activities in member services, platform building, international exchange, key brand events, and industry training.
He noted BISU's unique strengths in cultural and tourism industry research, international exchange, and think tank development; and expressed WTA's willingness to deepen collaboration with the university to jointly play a more significant role in serving national development strategies and promoting global tourism sustainability.

WTA delegation tours BISU's history museum and the China Academy of Culture and Tourism.
Zheng and his delegation also toured the BISU's history museum and the China Academy of Culture and Tourism to learn about the university's development, virtual reality lab, as well as digital culture and tourism lab.
