
Beijing International Studies University (BISU) held a New Year celebration for its overseas faculty on Dec 30. Nearly 100 teachers from abroad attended the event together with their families.

The event was filled with a lively atmosphere, featurng performances of singing, dancing, poetry recitation, and instrumental music by both Chinese and international faculty.

Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to participate in hands-on traditional Chinese cultural activities. These included making herbal sachets, crafting flower-paper lanterns recognized as intangible cultural heritage, designing traditional wind chimes, and writing Chinese Spring Festival couplets.
Many foreign teachers invited their visiting family members to join, enjoying an immersive experience in Chinese culture and strengthen personal connections.
BISU Vice-president Zheng Chengjun attended the event, expressing New Year greetings and gratitude to to the international faculty for their hard work and encouraged them to further integrate into the university community and serve as ambassadors for cultural exchange between China and the world.
To reciprocate, international teachers expressed their appreciation for the university's efforts in organizing diverse cultural activities each year, highlighting that these events make them feel like they are part of a loving family at BISU.
