
The 14th Northern Regional Model United Nations (UN) Conference was held at Beijing International Studies University (BISU) from Dec 6 to 7.
A total of 151 delegates from 31 universities, including Beijing Language and Culture University, China Foreign Affairs University, Dalian Maritime University, Heilongjiang University, and Harbin Institute of Technology, participated in the event.

At the opening ceremony, the "Global Youth Initiative" was presented to the delegates in five languages: Chinese, English, Spanish, French, and Russian.
This year's conference featured the simulation of important international organizations such as the UN International Children's Emergency Fund, the UN Security Council, and the African Union.
The agenda focused on child rights protection, artificial intelligence and copyright, the UN Security Council's peacekeeping mechanisms, and the African digital divide. These topics were selected for their relevance and professionalism, providing a comprehensive simulation of real international deliberation scenarios.

The Northern Region Model UN Conference, serving as a professional practice platform for regional international studies institutes, has been held for fourteen sessions to date. This conference provides young students with an important window to understand the United Nations and learn about multilateral diplomacy. It also offers a crucial platform for youths to learn and apply UN procedures to discuss and address global issues. The conference plays a positive role in cultivating foreign affairs talent with an international perspective.
