BISU provides volunteer services for Global Leaders' Meeting on Women

As the sole university providing volunteer services for the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, Beijing International Studies University (BISU) deployed 41 language volunteers to ensure the event's success in Beijing on Oct 13 and 14.

The university emphasized selecting, managing, and preparing volunteers based on merit and prior experience with significant events. They organized professional training, covering summit themes, venue logistics, and international etiquette. The training focused on precise multilingual translation of global topics such as purpose-driven leadership and sustainable development, enhancing students' political literacy and cross-cultural communication skills.

During the summit, the volunteers took on key roles such as guest reception, consultation services, and venue guidance. Their enthusiastic and attentive service combined with professional language skills ensured activities ran smoothly and highlighted the capital's efficient services.

Chen Shiyi, an experienced volunteer, felt she was both a witness and promoter of national prosperity. “Standing at the forefront of international events in the capital, we are not only translators and guides but also practitioners of the patriotic spirit of Chinese youth and bridges for Sino-foreign cultural exchange," she said.

The volunteers' professionalism and attentive service were highly praised by the Beijing Women's Federation. Zhang Ningyu, the vice-chairperson, and her team visited BISU to express gratitude.

Gong Bo, BISU's vice-president and a member of the CPC BISU Committee, thanked the Federation on behalf of the university for the opportunity to serve at the summit. He stated that the university will continue to support the capital’s development, strengthen talent cultivation, and contribute to the capital's growth.
