
Beijing International Studies University (BISU)'s School of Interpreting and Translation signed a cooperation agreement with the China Light Industry Enterprises Investment & Development Association (CNLI) on Oct 10.
Ji Jinbiao, president of the university and deputy secretary of the CPC BISU Committee, met with the delegation led by CNLI Chairman Zhao Shuang, and attended the signing ceremony.
Ji said that talent cultivation must closely align with market and industry demands, focusing on enhancing students' ability to apply their skills in real-world scenarios, continuously strengthening their practical and innovative capabilities, and ensuring that the education provided resonates with the needs of economic and social development.
Zhao pointed out that as the light industry accelerates its international expansion, there is an urgent need for a large number of versatile professionals who are proficient in foreign languages and well-versed in industry’s knowledge and practices. This cooperation opens up vast opportunities for collaborative education between academia and industry.
The two sides signed a cooperation agreement and further discussed the future cooperation.

Under the agreement, both parties are committed to building a high-level platform that integrates practical teaching, scientific research and industrial application. They will focus on key areas such as talent cultivation, student internships and employment to develop versatile international professionals who are proficient in languages and familiar with the industry.
This initiative aims to provide robust talent support and high-quality language services to drive the globalization of the light industry.
