Masanneh Nyuku Kinteh, the Gambian ambassador to China, visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU) with embassy official Mamadoujang Sey on Sept 11.
Ji Jinbiao, president of BISU and deputy secretary of the CPC BISU Committee, warmly received the ambassador and his delegation, along with Vice President Zheng Chengjun, who also serves as a member of the CPC BISU Committee.

Ji provided a detailed introduction to the development history and educational features of the university. He pointed out that as a foreign language university with a core mission of promoting cultural exchange between China and other countries, the university has consistently adhered to its original aspiration of "serving national strategy and cultivating foreign language talents".
Since its founding, the university has not only contributed a large number of high-level diplomatic talents to the country but also, with its profound language teaching foundation, established 29 foreign language programs.
While discussing international development, Ji mentioned that the university places great importance on international exchange and cooperation. It has established comprehensive and multilevel cooperative relationships with over 220 universities and educational institutions in more than 50 countries and regions worldwide.
Meanwhile, the scale of international student education at the university continues to expand, further consolidating its position as an important international student training base in Beijing.
He expressed his hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further expand the scale of Gambian students studying in China, deepen cooperation with Gambian universities and research institutions in academic exchanges and scholar visits and elevate the friendly relations between the two sides to a new level.
Ambassador Kinteh expressed his gratitude for the warm reception by the university. He highly acknowledged the university's educational achievements, stating that as a renowned foreign language university in China, it has trained many outstanding diplomatic talents, including Wang Yi, who have played significant roles in the field of diplomacy.
He also recalled the history of friendly cooperation between the university and Gambia, emphasizing that the university has a good reputation in Gambia and is well recognized by the local populace.
Ambassador Kinteh expressed his hope to further strengthen communication and contact between the university and the Gambian Embassy in China through this visit, promoting deeper cooperation in student exchanges, academic research and social services, achieving mutual benefits and win-win results.
On behalf of the Gambian Foreign Minister, Ambassador Kinteh also extended sincere thanks and best wishes to the university.
Ambassador Kinteh toured the School of International Education and campus facilities, giving high praise to the university's educational conditions.
