Beijing International Studies University (BISU) recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Sub-council (CCPIT-CSC) at the 9th China Forum on Standardization of Trade in Services.
The forum, held on Sept 12 during the 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), was themed "New pathways for standards cooperation, new horizons for trade in services". Representatives of BISU were invited to attend the event and the signing ceremony.
This year's forum was jointly organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the China Association for Standardization.
As a specialized forum of the 2025 CIFTIS, it attracted participation from representatives of international and domestic industry organizations and enterprises, including the World Trade Organization, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Asia-Pacific Services Coalition.
Participants discussed standard cooperation and jointly explored innovation and development in service trade.
Zhang Yan, vice-president of BISU and a member of the Standing Committee of CPC BISU Committee, attended the forum and signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the university with the CCPIT.

According to the agreement, both parties will collaborate on research and application promotion in areas such as commercial service trade and new international business models. They will jointly build a think tank in international commercial standards formulation, technical consulting and brand cultivation. The agreement also includes conducting academic exchanges, co-hosting high-level international forums and conferences, jointly developing university-enterprise courses, training certified cross-border e-commerce operation professionals, and co-building a comprehensive cross-border e-commerce training platform.
Additionally, they will establish internship and practice bases for university students, joint training bases for graduate students, cultivate high-level professional and technical talents needed by the trade promotion system, and encourage outstanding graduates to seek employment within the trade promotion system.
BISU's School of English Language, Literature and Culture will serve as the executive liaison unit responsible for coordinating and implementing the related tasks.
