BISU enhances educational exchange with Thailand

A 31-member delegation from Thailand's Samut Prakan, led by Worapote Singharach, director of the Secondary Education Service Area Office, visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU). The delegation comprised representatives from Thai secondary education institutions.

Zheng Chengjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university welcomed the delegation and highlighted the longstanding friendship between China and Thailand over the past 50 years, characterized by effective cooperation in education and culture.

He spoke about the history and specialized disciplines of BISU, emphasizing its commitment to educational exchanges with Thailand and other neighboring countries.

He noted that BISU offers high-quality degree and non-degree programs, comprehensive services for international students and a wide range of cultural exchange activities, creating an excellent environment for Thai students.

He also expressed confidence that the visit would open a new chapter in educational cooperation and looked forward to deepening the partnership, expanding exchange programs, enhancing educational quality, and promoting mutual understanding through youth exchange activities.

Singharach expressed gratitude for BISU's warm hospitality and detailed the educational landscape of the Samut Prakan Secondary Education Service Area and the growing interest in Chinese language learning among Thai youth.

He noted that Chinese has been integrated into Thailand's national curriculum, with schools under the Samut Prakan Secondary Education Service Area offering comprehensive Chinese language courses.

Singharach expressed hope that the visit would further strengthen educational cooperation between the two countries, providing a platform for Thai teachers and students to learn about the Chinese language and culture and enhancing the cultural ties between the two nations.

During the meeting, teachers from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office at BISU provided an overview of the university and its international student admission policies.

Xia Hailong, director of International Student Admissions at the School of International Education, highlighted the school's unique educational offerings and its high-quality Chinese language education platform for international students.

The two sides engaged in lively discussions about the details of educational cooperation.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured the BISU campus and expressed appreciation for the well-maintained facilities and academic atmosphere.
