BISU hosts Study in Beijing training program

The Study in Beijing training program, organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and hosted by Beijing International Studies University (BISU), was held at BISU from June 30 to July 2.    

Over 300 participants, including leaders from the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, and representatives from 72 universities, attended the event.

The training program was designed to address international student recruitment, management, and services, with the aim of advancing the internationalization of education in Beijing.

Gong Bo, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university, delivered an opening speech.

He highlighted the significance of the Study in Beijing initiative, emphasizing its aim to elevate the standard of international student education from quantity to quality. He also stressed the university's commitment to supporting the training program.

Ji Xiaozhe, deputy director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, interpreted the significance of the Study in Beijing initiative, encouraging the universities to explore student recruitment in emerging source countries and build a systematic international student management system.

The opening ceremony of the training program is held at BISU on June 30.

After the opening ceremony, guest speakers provided systematic guidance on entry and exit policies, international student management, public feedback handling, and employment opportunities for international students.

On July 1, the training program featured presentations on the characteristics of media, employment of foreign students in China, foreign student recruitment achievements and future expansion plans, quality national condition education cases, as well as BISU's foreign teacher's sharing of cross-cultural management, emphasizing the value of humanistic care. 

The program concluded with group presentations on strategies for expanding international student recruitment, mechanisms for national condition education, and innovative practices in cross-cultural management.

The Beijing Municipal Education Commission praised the program's success and recognized the vital role of university staff in the  initiative.

This training program highlighted BISU's commitment to advancing the educational internationalization in Beijing. The university aims to continue contributing its expertise and resources to the development of international education.
