The 10th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) was held in Beijing from June 24 to 26, under the theme "Connecting for Development, Collaborating for Prosperity".

The event attracted over 3,500 guests from nearly 100 countries and regions. During the meeting, 90 volunteers from the language majors of Beijing International Studies University (BISU) played key roles, contributing over 3,000 hours of service and providing solid support to the event with their remarkable "BISU strength".

To ensure high-quality volunteer service and further enhance the exemplary role of Party members, BISU established a temporary Party branch for the volunteers. The branch organized activities such as retaking the Party oath, studying volunteer service regulations, and holding a send-off ceremony to strengthen the sense of responsibility and mission among all Party members, preparing them to lead the volunteer service efforts.

Language translation was a notable highlight of the volunteer service at this year's AIIB annual meeting, showcasing BISU's unique strength in this area.

After extensive training, the volunteers leveraged their language skills to serve as liaison officer assistants and provide language translation services for the volunteer center and ground transportation.

After the event, the BISU volunteers said that they completed their tasks with a high sense of responsibility and ability to get things done, enhancing their language expression and team coordination skills while gaining valuable experience.

On June 25, Gong Bo, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university, visited the service site to meet the BISU volunteers.

He held discussions with Cai Jing, a BISU teacher who led the volunteer team, and key volunteers to learn about the volunteer role setup, task content and their insights.

Gong highly praised the students' professional abilities and dedication, and he encouraged them to "weather challenges, broaden their horizons, strengthen their skills, and grow their talents through vivid volunteer practice, transforming this valuable experience into a core competitive advantage for future career development".

The volunteer service at this AIIB annual meeting was a showcase of BISU's achievements in talent cultivation and a vivid illustration of Chinese youth's active participation in global governance and service to the national diplomatic agenda.

BISU students, with their professional skills and youthful enthusiasm, strive to be "cultural exchange ambassadors" connecting China and the world and to be pioneers in serving national development and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, demonstrating their openness, confidence and sense of responsibility.
