From May 7 to 9, Ji Jinbiao, deputy secretary of the CPC Beijing International Studies University (BISU) Committee and president of the university, led a delegation to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for enterprise visits and growth opportunities. They held detailed discussions with various enterprises and institutions on core topics such as talent development, internship employment, industry-academia collaboration, seeking new paths for collaborative development between the university and the industry.
Ji Jinbiao (R2) leads a delegation to visit the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area from May 7 to 9.
During this trip, they visited 12 well-known enterprises and institutions including the headquarters of Huawei and Xunlei, WeBank, Shenzhen SEZ Construction Group, Bay Area International Exchange Service Center and Shenzhen Financial Technology Association.
They established three bases including the University Student Internship Bases, signed two framework cooperation agreements, and planned to expand over 50 internship positions.
Ji engaged in detailed discussions with the leaders of the enterprises and institutions, introducing BISU's disciplinary characteristics, professional advantages, talent development models, and the situation of graduates.
He also listened to the opinions and suggestions of employers on the university's talent development, learning about industry trends and talent demand.
He noted that as a key university jointly established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Beijing Municipality, BISU has always regarded serving the capital's strategic development and local economic construction as an important mission. Leveraging its advantages in foreign languages, tourism, and economics and trade disciplines, the university responds to local collaborative development needs, contributing wisdom and strength to the upgrading of cultural tourism industries, international exhibition services, and regional economic research, among others.
In the future, BISU will continue to provide intellectual support for enterprises to expand overseas markets, participate in the Belt and Road Initiative, help enhance the international competitiveness of enterprises in the Greater Bay Area, and promote the globalization of regional economies, Ji said.
Representatives of these enterprises and institutions highly praised the quality of talent cultivation at the university and provided constructive suggestions on curriculum development and reform based on industry development needs.
