Zheng Chengjun attends the President's Forum in Sichuan

Zheng Chengjun , vice president of the Beijing International Studies University (BISU) and a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee, was honored to attend the Sichuan International Studies University's (SISU) President's Forum on May 10.  

As one of the university's celebrations for its 75th anniversary, the forum, themed "The Transformation and Innovation of Foreign Language Education in the AI Era", brought together more than 200 leaders and guests from around 20 domestic and foreign universities along with representatives from various media outlets and faculty and students from SISU. 

The opening ceremony was hosted by Zou Yu, secretary of the CPC SISU Committee. Dong Hongchuan, president of SISU, delivered a talk on the high-quality development of the university under the theme of "Integrating Chinese and Western Cultures, Pursuing Excellence".

During the keynote speech session, Zheng presented a speech themed "Practices in Cultivating Talents for International People-to-people Exchange in the New Era", introducing the university's efforts and achievements in reforming talent cultivation models under the background of AI.

He emphasized the characteristics of talent cultivation in BISU's current student training programs, with a focus on fostering high-quality talents for developing new productive forces by optimizing the structure of major and minor credits.

He also shared specific measures and significant achievements in the university's international exchange and cooperation, demonstrating the active practices and responsibilities of serving national strategies, promoting international people-to-people exchange, and enhancing students' global competence in the new era.

Presidents from universities such as the University of International Business and Economics, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Tianjin Foreign Studies University attended the event and held in-depth exchanges on digital transformation of foreign language education and cultivation of inter-disciplinary talents with global perspectives.
