On April 10, Behrooz Abtahi, vice president of Shahid Beheshti University, led a delegation from six Iranian universities to visit Beijing International Studies University (BISU).

During the meeting, Zhang highlighted BISU'sdevelopmentjourneyand its international engagements.Emphasizing the university's core mission of academic research and talent cultivation, he noted thatover its sixty-yearexistence,BISU hasnurtured a group of high-level talents serving various sectors of society. In addition to foreign language programs, the university offers majors in tourism management, international trade, and international communication, significantly contributing to international people-to-people exchange.
He added with the advancement of electronic devices and social media, channels for mutual understanding between Chinese and Iranian youth have become richer and more convenient. The flourishing tourism industries in both countries will also deepen mutual understanding of each other's traditions and cultures.
He also emphasized that international exchange and cooperation are pivotal to the university, adding that beyond student exchanges, BISU looks forward to engaging in scholar exchanges and other forms of collaboration with Iranian universities to explore broader cooperation opportunities.
Yu Gang, director of the BISU International Exchange and Cooperation Office, introduced the delegation to BISU's international student programs, Confucius Institute development, and other international exchange activities.
Li Ning, dean of the School of Middle Eastern Studies, discussed the school's talent cultivation, Persian language program development, and cooperation with Iranian universities.
Representatives from the six Iranian universities outlined their respective institutions' development history, organizational structure, faculty and student data, international cooperation, and language teaching in Persian and Chinese.
The visitors praised BISU's achievements in talent cultivation and academic research, noting a high degree of alignment and significant potential for cooperation in language programs and business administration. They expressed their eagerness for further communication and exchange in the future.
During the visit, the delegation also toured BISU's history museum, gaining an immersive understanding of its sixty-year development journey and the achievements of building a high-level foreign language university characterized by promoting international people-to-people exchange.
