Jeroen Prinsen, executive director for Asia-Pacific at Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), an international higher education consultancy, led a delegation to visit Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on April 16.
Cheng Wei, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university, warmly welcomed the visitors.

Cheng highlighted BISU's achievements in academic development and global engagement spanning sixty years. She pointed out that the university has distinct advantages in foreign language and literature as well as tourism management, which have led to the development of a unique system for international talent cultivation, faculty development, and scientific research.
Cheng praised QS Group's student-centered approach to supporting the development of higher education and thanked its representatives for detailed explanation of the QS ranking evaluation system.
She emphasized the importance of using new technologies to promote teaching and research reform, fully leveraging various resources to build the "Study Abroad at BISU" brand, which is crucial for enhancing the university's international influence and global recognition. She also expressed her hope for further exchanges with QS Group to showcase BISU and its opportunities globally.
Meanwhile, Prinsen outlined the development history and core business of the QS Group. He noted that QS focuses on university performance, international recruitment, innovation-driven initiatives, and skill cultivation, providing data support and analytical guidance for universities to attract high-quality students and produce industry-ready graduates.
He praised BISU's achievements in education, teaching, social service, and global cooperation, and suggested that the university continue to leverage its disciplinary strengths and fully tap into alumni and industry resources to enhance its international reputation.
Yu Gang, director of the BISU International Exchange and Cooperation Office, and Deng Ning, associate dean of the School of Tourism Sciences, discussed the university's overall international cooperation efforts, particularly the international research strength of the tourism discipline, its role in serving industry development, and conducting international educational cooperation with the delegation.
As part of their visit, Prinsen and his delegation also toured BISU's history museum to gain an in-depth understanding of the university’s progress at various historical stages since its founding.
