A delegation from J. F. Oberlin University, led by Assistant President Takahara Koji, visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on April 3. Zhang Yan, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university, met with the delegation.
After welcoming Takahara and his delegation, Zhang reflected on the long-standing cooperative history between BISU and Japanese universities, including J. F. Oberlin University, and spoke about BISU's history, distinctive features and the development of its Japanese language program.

He noted that Japan has strong advantages in industries such as tourism and elder care, adding that BISU is pleased to maintain a friendly cooperative relationship with J. F. Oberlin University and hopes to strengthen collaboration in areas such as language, tourism, and wellness in the future, engaging in more academic research and exchanges between faculty and students.
Takahara thanked BISU for the warm reception. He said that J. F. Oberlin University has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence, having established a Chinese literature program at the very inception of the university. Moreover, the university boasts rich expertise and achievements in various fields such as tourism and social welfare.
Takahara said he believed that the two univerisites share numerous commonalities in related academic fields. He expressed his strong desire to collaborate closely, working hand in hand to promote exchanges and further deepen cooperation between the two institutions.
During the visit, the delegation also visited BISU's School of Japanese Language, Literature and Culture and had in-depth discussions with faculty representatives on future cooperation intentions.
