VP of BISU meets with Binghamton University delegation

Zheng Chengjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing International Studies University (BISU) Committee and vice-president of the university, met a delegation from the State University of New York at Binghamton led by Executive Vice President Donald E. Hall on Oct 24.

Zheng extended gratitude to Hall for sending a congratulation video during the 60th anniversary celebration of BISU. He spoke of BISU's history, education system, and its efforts to go global, and expressed the wish of BISU to maintain friendship with Binghamton University and cooperate to advance the nurturing of talents with global perspectives.

Hall expressed his pleasure in visiting BISU, congratulated BISU on its outstanding achievements over the past sixty years, and wished for further success in the future.

He said he was in expectation of reaching four agreements with BISU, which would provide exchange opportunities for scholars, experts, and students from both sides.

He said he hoped that both sides would work together to help students broaden their horizons, and he welcomed BISU faculty and students to visit Binghamton University.

Representatives from BISU's School of English, Literature and Culture, School of Asian Studies, School of Middle Eastern Studies, and School of Interpreting and Translation briefed the visitors on the development of their respective schools, and expressed their anticipation for cooperation on faculty and student exchange programs with Binghamton University. 

After the talks, both sides signed four cooperation agreements, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation.
