BISU welcomes exchange delegation from FEFU

A delegation from the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in Russia, led by the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Vladivostok, visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU) for a Sino-Russian youth exchange event on Sept 23.

Representatives from BISU warmly welcomed the delegation in front of the statue of Premier Zhou Enlai.

They also shared insights into the university's history, academic disciplines, and achievements.

The delegation then proceeded to the Student Activity Center, where Wu You from the Xiangyu Youth International Volunteer Center highlighted the university's engagement in large-scale volunteer activities.

In an interactive session, Wang Xuefeng, a faculty member from the School of European Studies, conducted a course on traditional Chinese culture. In the class, Sino-Russian youth partnered up and explored cultural practices such as calligraphy and Peking opera mask painting.

Wu Wei, secretary general of the Party Committee of the School of European Studies, presented the delegation with calligraphy works created by students, extending the warmest wishes from BISU's faculty and students.

The course concluded in a chorus of the classic Russian song "Katyusha", symbolizing the enduring friendship between China and Russia and the hope for future cultural exchanges.

Following the cultural activities, the delegation toured BISU's translation achievement exhibition. BISU faculty shared the university's accomplishments, highlighting the university's seasoned translators and notable translation works.

Before concluding their visit, the delegation expressed keen interest in further academic exchanges and collaborations, emphasizing the desire for mutual learning opportunities. They also recorded a video to convey their best wishes for BISU's 60th anniversary.
