NCU vice president visits BISU

Przemysław Nehring, vice president of Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU), Poland, led a delegation to visit Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on June 14. Zheng Chengjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice president of the university, met with the delegation.

Zheng emphasized the close partnership between BISU and NCU, hailing the achievements of the two sides in Polish major talents training. He also briefed Nehring on BISU's "An Overview of Modern China and City Development" summer program, and invited NCU faculties and students to attend the university's 60th-anniversary celebration.

Nehring expressed gratitude for BISU's warm reception and noted the shared vision of the two universities in internationalization and discipline construction. He proposed further collaboration in areas such as dual bachelor's degrees in Polish, interdisciplinary talent training and student and scholar exchanges.

The academic achievements of BISU Polish major students were appreciated, thanks to the cooperation between the two sides, and agreements on further collaboration were reached at the meeting.

During the visit, Małgorzata Berend, director of the Polish Research Center, interacted with BISU's 2022 Polish major students, introducing the history, culture, and social environment of Toruń, the city where NCU is based, and providing advice on studying and living in Poland.
