Janos Pasztor, former United Nations assistant secretary-general on climate change, visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on April 16.
Zheng Chengjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university, met with him.

Zheng welcomed Pasztor and briefed him on the university's internationalization achievements since its founding. He pointed out that BISU has been committed to international exchanges and cultivating talents for international organizations. He hoped that BISU students would gain a new understanding of international organizations and global governance from Pasztor's sharing of experience and knowledge.
Pasztor thanked BISU for its warm welcome and congratulated it on its upcoming 60th founding anniversary. He highly appreciated the achievements of BISU's internationalization and praised its students' passion for contributing to international development and participating in the work of international organizations. He said he looked forward to meeting and communicating with them.
In his speech titled "International Organizations and Global Climate Governance", Pasztor introduced and analyzed the nature of the global climate crisis, assessed the strengths and shortcomings of the existing global climate governance frameworks and put forward his suggestions.
Pasztor gives a speech to about 100 BISU faculty members and students.
In the Q&A session, students asked about internships and working in international organizations.
