A delegation from Chiang Rai Rajabhat University (CRRU) in Thailand visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU) on March 5.
Ji Jinbiao, deputy secretary of the CPC BISU Committee and president of the university, welcomed the delegation.
He briefed the guests on the university's history, academic specialties and international development.
Pointing out that the two universities have a strong alignment in several advantageous disciplines — such as international Chinese education, the Thai language and tourism — he expressed that he anticipated promotion of exchanges and cooperation between the two universities in terms of scholars, students and academics in the future.

Manat Suwan, vice president of the directorate of CRRU, and Sornchai Mungthaisong, president of CRRU, expressed their gratitude for the reception and introduced the basic situation of CRRU. The delegation appreciated BISU's academic achievements and its talent cultivation and international exchanges, and expressed strong endorsement of the proposed cooperation with BISU.
Both parties also engaged in in-depth discussions regarding cooperation in joint education, internships, practical training and the sharing of educational resources.
After the meeting, representatives from both sides signed a framework cooperation agreement on the spot.

A symposium was also held for the delegation to meet with faculty and students from BISU's School of Asian Studies. Students from the Thai Language major class of 2023, performed the Thai song "Whatever" to welcome the delegation.
During the symposium, representatives from both schools exchanged ideas on visiting scholars, faculty training, student exchanges and internships.

During their visit, the delegation also toured BISU's history museum, which shows the university's founding history and its achievements in international education.
