China-Europe sustainable finance forum held at BISU

The first "Forum on China-Europe Exchange and Cooperation on Sustainable Finance" was recently held at the Beijing International Studies University (BISU).

It attracted representatives from the Delegation of the European Union to China, the China-Europe Green and Innovation Association, and other international institutions and social organizations to explore China-Europe green sustainable development.

The first "Forum on China-Europe Exchange and Cooperation on Sustainable Finance" is held at BISU.

Fan Haoyi, chairman of the China-Europe Green and Innovation Association, said countries need to actively explore the path of green development and sustainable finance. He underscored the collaborative opportunities existing between China and Europe in the realm of sustainable development.

Chang Yu, secretary of the CPC BISU Committee, said that the school's collaboration with the European Union is built upon a strong historical foundation. Chang said BISU will continue to leverage its strengths to foster policy dialogues, enhance communication and trust, and contribute to China-Europe sustainable development.

Guo Jianwei, senior researcher at the Institute of Finance and Sustainability, pointed out that the development of green finance needs to leverage the power of sustainable finance in the market. China-Europe financial cooperation is an important opportunity, and both sides can provide solutions for green and sustainable development.

Shan Binnuo, minister-counselor and director of the Economic and Financial Department of the Delegation of the European Union to China, emphasized that China and the European Union attach great importance to the issue of climate change. Green finance must join hands with private enterprises to demonstrate clear investment pathways through standardization and classification.

Ye Yanfei, former chief inspector of the Policy Research Bureau of the National Financial Regulatory Administration, stated that the development of green finance in China represents an important commitment to the world. The development of green finance is a goal jointly pursued by enterprises from the central to local levels in China.

The roundtable discussion is held at the forum.

During the roundtable discussion, participants discussed China-Europe cooperation, government case studies linking ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) with environment and finance and economic transformation.

The purpose of this event was to establish a platform for cultural exchanges of Track 1.5 diplomacy at BISU, aiming to facilitate candid exchanges of views to promote the coordinated development of China-Europe green industries and finance in the new era.
