He emphasized the university’s commitment to strengthening cultural exchanges between China and the world and to cultivating talents in foreign affairs, saying that BISU will further promote internationalization of its students, scholars, academic research and disciplines.

BISU is willing to cooperate with Jamaican universities, Zheng said, adding that he hoped student and faculty exchanges and research collaboration in various disciplines to be facilitated with the support of the Jamaican Embassy in China.

Williams expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and introduced his country’s national conditions, especially the tourism industry as an economic pillar, and trade between the two countries. He has actively promoted educational exchanges and cooperation between Jamaican and Chinese universities since assuming office on Oct 20. He appreciated the suggestions proposed by BISU and said he hoped this visit to facilitate their cooperation.
