BISU vice-president meets with delegation from George Mason University

On Nov 16, a delegation led by Professor Mark Rozell, dean of Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University (GMU), visited Beijing International Studies University (BISU). The meeting was hosted by Zheng Chengjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university.

During the meeting, Zheng extended a warm welcome to Professor Rozell, recalling his previous visit to GMU. He provided an overview of BISU, including its history, academic programs, and achievements in talent cultivation. Zheng expressed a keen interest in deepening the friendship between the two institutions. He highlighted the desire for multi-disciplinary cooperation, strengthening academic and cultural exchanges between faculty and students, thereby enhancing the cooperation between the peoples of both countries. Zheng emphasized BISU's openness to collaborative projects that benefit Sino-American relations.

Professor Rozell thanked BISU for the reception and shared insights about the Schar School of Policy and Government. As one of GMU's 10 schools, it has a comprehensive education system from undergraduate to doctoral levels and boasts extensive educational exchanges and cooperation with Chinese universities. He noted the solid foundation GMU has and agreed with the proposed collaboration ideas, expressing eagerness to actively promote cooperative dialogues.

Krista Uhrig, director of the International Admissions and Cooperation at GMU, introduced the general situation of the university and expressed optimism about future collaborations. Representatives from various departments of both universities engaged in in-depth discussions about their willingness and ideas for future cooperation. Both parties agreed to efficiently follow up on the details of the cooperation after the meeting.
