Updated: November 15, 2023

In a significant development for the academic community, Beijing International Studies University (BISU) has officially become a member of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), expanding its international presence and collaborative opportunities in French education.

This milestone was marked by a congratulatory joint letter from AUF to Ji Jinbiao, deputy secretary of the CPC BISU Committee and president of the university.

The letter shared the AUF's decision, made during its meeting on May 31, to accept BISU as a full member. This membership grants the university the right to apply for projects within the alliance and to receive financial support.

Presently, the AUF boasts over 1,100 member institutions from nearly 120 countries. To date, 10 Chinese universities, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Wuhan University, and China Foreign Affairs University, have joined the alliance.
