BISU volunteers shine at Hangzhou Asian Games

The 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou came to a successful conclusion on October 8. Throughout the 16 days, Beijing International Studies University (BISU) showcased the vitality of its youth in fostering Sino-foreign cultural exchanges. A total of 65 multilingual volunteers provided essential services, reflecting the institution's dedication to international engagement.

During the games, BISU volunteers, fluent in eight languages - Russian, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Vietnamese, Arabic, Persian, and English - served in various roles across the main host city of Hangzhou and five co-hosting cities. Their expertise spread across three categories and over 10 venues, clocking in over 12,000 hours.

The university's commitment was evident as school leaders visited and encouraged the volunteers. On the opening day of the games, three BISU volunteers were chosen as interpreters for the delegations, ensuring smooth communication for the grand ceremony. In another instance, their swift action in security checks facilitated local work, earning heartfelt gratitude from the participating teams.

BISU's young volunteers, with their profound knowledge and fervent passion, have consistently been present at various high-profile international events, shining brightly and contributing substantially to cultural exchanges between China and the world.
