A new milestone was etched in the educational collaboration between Beijing International Studies University (BISU) and Mohammed V University, Morocco on Sept 2.

Celebrating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Morocco, the two universities inaugurated a new college named BISU College (Morocco), which is their second cooperative venture, following their collaborative success with the Confucius Institute.

Yin Li, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, graced the agreement exchange ceremony, alongside Mohammed Khalfaoui, secretary-general of the Ministry of Higher Education of Morocco.

In the spirit of continued cooperation and the fostering of cultural exchanges, Yin expressed optimism toward an enduring friendly cooperation between China and Morocco. He emphasized the aspiration that both institutions will persist in contributing constructively to the nurturing of a community, envisaging a shared future for mankind.

During the unveiling ceremony, Ji Jinbiao, deputy secretary of the CPC BISU Committee and president of the university, and Ismail Kassou, vice-president of Mohammed V University, exchanged cooperation and student exchange agreements for the new college.

The college embodies a mission to synergize the distinctive expertise of both universities in various disciplines, with a pronounced aim to cultivate high-caliber, adaptable, and internationally-oriented tourism professionals. Furthermore, it seeks to augment cultural and people-to-people exchanges and pledges to contribute to the flourishing strategic partnership between China and Morocco in an innovative way.
