On Sept 15, Mohd Shukri Abdul Yajid, president of Malaysia's Management and Science University (MSU) led a delegation to visit Beijing International Studies University (BISU). Ji Jinbiao, deputy secretary of the CPC BISU Committee and president of BISU, Zheng Chengjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university met with the delegation.

Ji warmly welcomed Yajid and his delegation and briefed them about the history, disciplines, scientific research and international cooperation of BISU. He pointed out that the two schools have co-founded ASEAN Economic, Cultural and Tourism Research Center in 2022. With similar plans and objectives in disciplines development and international strategy, the two have huge cooperation potential. Ji said that all-round and in-depth international cooperation is of vital importance to the two schools, and BISU would accelerate the implementation of the cooperation projects.
Yajid said he was happy to meet his old friends in BISU. He reflected upon the substantial cooperation between the two schools since 2018 when the partnership was established, and gave positive responses to the intention of BISU to conduct all-round and in-depth cooperation. He stressed that MSU highly valued its cooperation with BISU and hoped that substantive cooperation could be further conducted in the fields of area studies, tourism and hotels and exhibitions.

Commending the program initiated by Yajid, Ji conveyed that BISU would promptly coordinate with MSU in negotiating and executing each project. Subsequently, they inaugurated the ASEAN Economic, Cultural, and Tourism Research Center and signed an International Exchange Agreement. This marked a new chapter in the universities' partnership, heralding an advanced phase of development.
Before the official meeting, accompanied by Zheng Chengjun, the delegation led by Shukri visited the university history museum and the sculpture of Premier Zhou Enlai.
