In an effort to enhance its international student recruitment, Beijing International Studies University (BISU) hosted a progress meeting on September 12. The event was attended by key university officials, including Zheng Chengjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university.

Chaired by Yu Gang, director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the meeting began with a summary of the international student enrollment for the year 2023. Notably, BISU has seen its international student enrollment go back to pre-COVID-19 levels.
Yu highlighted the university's proactive approach in diversifying recruitment channels, which has resulted in a notable increase in the number of international students. The campus is now buzzing with lively exchanges of ideas and cultures, fostering a vibrant atmosphere for both Chinese and international students.

During the meeting, various university departments and academic units engaged in substantial discussions regarding the challenges faced in international student recruitment. These discussions yielded constructive insights aimed at shaping the university's future enrollment strategies and enhancing its administrative capabilities.
In his concluding remarks, Zheng acknowledged the dedication and support from all university units involved in international student recruitment in 2023. He stressed the importance of adopting a systematic approach, fostering greater collaboration between departments, and strengthening the mechanisms supporting the "Study in BISU" program.
Notable attendees included representatives from BISU's International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Student Affairs, Logistics and Infrastructure, the schools of Tourism Sciences, Business, Economics, Chinese Culture and Communication, and the MTA/MBA Education Center.
