On July 21, the renowned Professor C. T. James Huang from the Department of Linguistics at Harvard University visited Beijing, where he was cordially received by Zheng Chengjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of the university.

Huang received his mentorship from Noam Chomsky, a contemporary American scholar, linguist, political commentator, and social activist. His scholarly contributions in the realms of syntax, syntax-semantics interface, and Chinese grammar have earned him widespread recognition. He has published numerous articles in internationally esteemed academic journals and his research has been extensively cited in the scholarly community. His work has also been incorporated into syntax textbooks, solidifying his role as a crucial component of the mainstream theory of generative grammar. Additionally, Huang held leadership positions at Harvard University's Department of Linguistics.
