During the meeting, Zheng extended a heartfelt welcome to Tanterdtid and briefed him on the rich history, educational philosophy, academic strengths, and the university's progress in internationalization. For nearly 60 years, BISU has stayed steadfast in its commitment to promoting internationalization, which has played a pivotal role in the growth and achievements of the institution.
The recent successes are a result of the university's unwavering dedication to international cooperation and the support from friendly international partners. BISU attaches significant importance to educational collaboration with Thai universities and has already established partnerships with three of them.
Moreover, the university is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the first cohort of Thai-language major undergraduate students in September this year. Given Thailand's abundant tourism resources and its crucial role in the country's economy, coupled with BISU's expertise in tourism management, the two parties can strengthen collaboration in areas such as Chinese language instruction and tourism management. It is seen to promote the growth of education and tourism industries in both nations.
Tanterdtid expressed his wholehearted agreement with Zheng's proposal for cooperation. He emphasized the longstanding amicable relationship between Thailand and China, nurtured by close interactions between the leaders of both countries, which has laid a robust foundation for cooperation between their higher education institutions. As more and more Thai people are learning Chinese and showing keen interest in China's modern technological advancements, Tanterdtid has been actively promoting substantial collaboration between the two nations.
He pointed out that Krirk University and BISU possess great potential for cooperation in areas such as Chinese and Thai language education, tourism management, and business administration. He expressed his hope of seeing tangible cooperative projects between the two institutions materialize as soon as possible and said he would offer his support in forging further partnerships with other exceptional Thai universities.
