BISU explores collaboration with Belarus State Economic University

On June 25, a delegation from Belarus State Economic University, led by President Egorov A. Vladimirovich and Vice-President Olga A. Morozevich, paid a visit to Beijing International Studies University (BISU). They were warmly received by Chang Yu, secretary of the CPC BISU Committee, who was accompanied by Zheng Chengjun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISU Committee and vice-president of BISU, as well as He Jing, assistant to the president of BISU.

Chang extended a warm welcome to Vladimirovich and his delegation, briefing them on the rich history, diverse disciplines, and international student education at BISU. He emphasized BISU's commitment to nurturing global talents proficient in multiple languages and possessing interdisciplinary skills for effective cross-cultural communication. International exchanges were highlighted as a top priority for the university. Chang expressed BISU's strong willingness to establish comprehensive and multi-level educational and research cooperation with Belarus State Economic University, with the hope that this visit would further expand and deepen collaboration between the two institutions.

Vladimirovich conveyed his great pleasure in visiting BISU, highlighting that despite its name, Belarus State Economic University embraces more than just economics. The university emphasizes interdisciplinary integration and fosters cross-cultural exchanges. Alongside economics programs, the university offers courses in management, languages, and culture. Vladimirovich envisioned numerous possibilities for collaboration between the two universities, expressing optimism for a bright future of cooperation.

Zheng provided an overview of BISU's internationalization efforts, underscoring its distinctiveness as a foreign language university dedicated to internationalization. He emphasized BISU's desire to forge extensive cooperation with Belarus State Economic University, spanning students, scholars, and academic collaboration.

Jiang Lu, dean of BISU's School of European Studies, along with Deputy Dean Xu Chuanhua, engaged in substantive discussions with Morozevich and Olga N. Gubska, head of the Belarusian Language Department at Belarus State Economic University, regarding specific areas of cooperation. The discussions yielded a consensus on the specific matters of collaboration.

To mark the official commencement of cooperation between the two universities, Chang and Vladimirovich signed an "Inter-university Cooperation Framework Agreement" on behalf of BISU and Belarus State Economic University.
