Cem Aygün is from Turkey. He graduated from the Ege University of Izmir. He studied in Minzu University of China for his M.A. degree, and received master degree in comperative grammar. He started to work in China in 1997, and worked in 3 different Chinese intitutions. He has been working in BISU SMES -School of Middle Eastern Studies- since 2018.

He has taken part in some Chinese-Turkish bilingual projects individually or as a team member. Some of these projects are writing textbooks in many subjects, and in all levels; to prepare the Turkish web site of Confucius Institute; to write and translate books about Chinese culture and history; preparing dictionaries for different purposes, and in all levels. He prepared, and developed some audiovisual materials, as well.

He has got several awards in China. He is interested in Turkish culture studies, intercultural communication issues, and comperative culture issues. He enjoys walking in Beijing, and travelling throughout China. His motto is: A person who lives in China less than one week can write a book about China. And a person who lives in China more than one year cannot write anything about China.
